It's HOME

Hurrah-my moleskine is home, home from its interesting journey around the world.  Thank you everyone, for all your art and thoughtfulness.  I'm going to grab a cup of coffee and sit down and savor every entry in it.

For Susanne's Moley

Top:  Artist Trading Card I made for Susanne's moley.
Bottom:  My two pages I made for Susanne's moley.  Marker, gel pen and Lyra crayons.  The words are "bird" in different languages, plus the names of different species of birds.

For Susanne's Moley

With my move to Colorado, coming down with a cold and the holiday business, my creative muse disappeared.  We got back to Tucson yesterday.  Today I've created more art in just a few hours  than the entire month I was in Colorado.
Susanne, I'll be mailing your moley tomorrow.  I hope you like the artist trading card I made to go along with the spread I created in your moley.---Happy New Year!-Theresa

Colorful women for Theresa

I live in South Pasadena. Pasadena is famous for New Year Rose Parade. Last year I saw Cowgirls horses perform at Rose parade. They are the most colorful women I have ever seen. Petunia entry was about feet and shoes. So I decided to design some colorful boots for Cowgirls. Here they are:

Hello from Colorado

Hi Everyone-I'm in Colorado for the holidays.  I've finished one moley (Ronnie's) and need to mail it to Susanne.  I have another moley I just started on.  Life's been nuts due to me moving again and the coming holidays.
Can we have a journal check in?  Just wondering where they are.
Hugs,
Theresa

I'll be putting Ronny's moley in the mail to you Susanne, some time this weekend.---Theresa

For Ronny's Moleskine

Hi Everyone!  It was hard for me to come up with something for Ronny's moleskine theme of Text and Texture but I did it!   My camera washed out the colors-it's brighter red than in the pictures.  It was fun to get messy, with gesso, embossing powders, etc.
I also made a paper cover to protect her moleskine.  It's temporary so she can take it off should she want to.
This will be headed your way, Susanne!--Theresa

I have Ronny's moley

Hi everyone! I have Ronny's moleskine on my desk right now. I don't know if everyone can tell but Katya's entry is very clever--the coffee cup in the hands is a pop out. You should see it in person.
I don't know what I will do in this moley yet. But I will probably keep it awhile. Susanne, are you still backed up and have two journals yet? No problem for me to wait on this one if you want me to.
We are almost done with the first round, can you believe it?
My husband is coming home from London tonight to be here for a few days. Yay! He hasn't been home since June.
Take care-Theresa

Ronny's Book: Text + Texture

Pages painted with instant coffee + a little bit of paper engineering. I am ready to send this moly to Theresa.

Male & Monica

Theresa did it ... and here they are, lying in the frosty light of a german autumn's day ... ;-)
They are lovely, lovely, lovely - in reality yet much more awesome than their photos suggested.
Well, I'll do my best.

We should think about how to equalize the sending order again. If I send one of the books in October and one in November, could that help? Ronny, how are you managing the sendings? Still a lot to do or is it calming down? (Wow, my english is getting worse with every posting *g*)

Green is Good

Hi Everyone-I just finished my entry in Monica's moleskine. My color was "green". I had fun doing it. I'm ready to package it and mail it off to Susanne (who will have two moleys from me in the same month, can she handle that excitement?!)--Theresa

Hello all- I just got Monica's moley from Katya today. Katya, your entry is beautiful. Hmm-I have to think my green theme before I do anything in this moley. -Theresa
P.s. Maria Elena's moley is on its way to you, Susanne.

“Yellow” for Monica

I am not too happy with the result but I tried my best. If I understand correctly, Monica’s moly has to be a “rainbow” book. But it had too much red in the previous three entries. So, I have added some more red and then switched to yellow. I am not too happy with the transition between Petunia’s and my images. Anyway, it’s finished and sent to Theresa.

Monica’s Moly

Hello Ladies! I am sorry but I am very late this time. I am back from my big trip to Russia. Last three weeks I spent without my computer and internet. But I hope some of you get my postcards. I sent them to all of you but did not risk to send the Moleskine, because it could travel too long. I am finishing my entry Monica’s Moly.

Here is just the preliminary sketch. I am working on it right now. I hope to finish and send it to Theresa at the end of this week.

Fix

Hi Ladies,

I've completely lost track: Whose Moly is where at that moment? Which ones are traveling, which are on somebody's desktop ... Please, leave a short note (via comments or via messagebox) to give us all a short update.

THANKS and xoxoxoxoxo

The queen, the star and the mother.

I had so much fun painting and collageing this molly, It took a bit of time but it was worth it, I hope Theresa likes it! I used guesso, mail stamps, scrapbook papers, watercolors, acrylics, embellishments, and of course my favorite, glitter! First I scketched the faces, then collaged them with old pages from a french book, painted with watercolors with little water so I wouldn´t ruin the papers of the molly, then used the guesso to cover it a bit and then used acrylics to give them color here and there, then used the mail stamps to collage even more and the scrap papers to give form to the faces, then finished painting the faces and added the crown, the stars hearts and the final touch, the glitter in the star face, I hope everybody enjoys this! :D

King freedom

Once upon a time there was a King in a beautiful Kingdom and his only porpouse was to bring joy and freedom to everyone who asked for it but he was always in the sky playing with the clouds and his daughters the birds and in order for him to leasten to you is only if you sing out loud the song of love...

Katya's moly

I really had to rack my brains over the theme and the beautiful pages Katya and Theresa created before. It was hard to find a good connection? lead? I don't know the right phrase ...

"My" pocket museum: Years and years ago I started to collect Rembrandt's self portraits on postcards - he created more than 60 (more than 100 with his drawings) and I just have a few of them. I scanned those postcards and made tape transfers with the prints.
I'm not very happy with this collage - too many small pieces, no focus. Shit happens ...

Petunia's moley

Hi everyone-here is what I did in Petunia's moley, her theme is Color and Texture. I was assigned the color Indigo Blue.
Katya's swirl at the bottom of her page reminded me of a fish, so I drew the eyeballs and mouth on it. I drew the goldfish and colored it with pastels. Then I put Diamond Glaze on it to make the fish look wet. I used blue embossing powder on the background for texture then watercolors. I put more Diamond Glaze on the "bubbles" to make them look wet too.
This was fun. --Theresa

Bleeding Art Tissue paper background

I have finished my entry in Maria Elena’s moleskine. I am ready to send it to Theresa. In a few days, I will be driving to Canada and plan to stay there for two weeks. Is it OK if I send it earlier? I already have the next book and it will travel with me.

This book belongs to Maria Elena. Her theme is “Let the World shine because of Love”.

I tried new technique - Bleeding Art Tissue paper. I made a big mess with all this wet tissue, but moleskine survived this terrible experience. And I am happy with the result.

My entry on Susanne's moly

Susanne's theme is "Words with Birds" and I have this idea of making a book page collage at the back then draw a bird on the collage. But then I heard a song from my favorite Taiwanese band and one of the lyrics are like that as the above. So I have this idea to put in the entry.

The words in my entry are not invisible as requested by Susanne. But I like it this way. ^_^

Theresa's Moly

I had a lot of fun with the theme and the crown. (Theresa wanted me to do something with it - and it was the inspiration for the motif: Rhinegold)

Petunia's Moly

It is very hot here in Los Angeles these days. It was 110 °F = 44 °C last weekend. I was almost cooked, my brain was melting, but I finished my entry for Petunia’s Moly. Her moleskine has a theme “Text, Texture & Color”. I am happy my color is BLUE. Because it is the only color, I can think of in this hot weather.

Off to Susan

Here is the envelope art I did for Susanne. I'm mailing Katya's moley to Germany tomorrow.-Theresa
P.S. Yes, I do like some stickers. Even cute ones. :)

We need a banner

Does anyone in this talented bunch know how to create a banner for our group? Lots of the other groups have banners with the artwork of their group. I'd do it but I don't know how.

The word is Art

I got Ronnie´s beautiful package today and I was so inspired I couldn´t wait! For Ronnie´s idea of words and texture, I used medium for a base coat, then used rubber stamps with letters, then a bit of guesso and used a tool to write on the guesso, when it was dry I painted it with sponges and acrilics, then collaged it with a created fairy and a mexican mail stamp and finally a few more ruber stamps and my favorite, a bit of glue with little stars to embellish, I am really enjoying this beautiful adventure! ThanX.
